RHBA-2017:2406 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Red Hat OpenStack Platform 11.0 director Bug Fix Advisory
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Lightspeed patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated director installer packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 11.0 (Ocata) for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:
Changes to the puppet-tripleo component:
- Cause:
During an OSP11 overcloud deployment, There is a race condition where, on occasion, ceilometer-upgrade runs at the same time when Apache is restarted due to other services being configured in the same step.
Consequence:
This can cause the ceilometer upgrade to fail since it cannot authenticate with keystone, because Apache is still not in the active state and aborts the deployment as a failure.
Workaround:
When this happens, restart the overcloud deploy from where it failed and the deploy should get past this race condition and proceed with the deployment normally.
Result:
As a result, the deploy should be successful instead of failing with an error. (BZ#1467849)
