Updated rear packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Extended Update Support.
Description
Relax-and-Recover is a recovery and system migration utility. The utility produces a bootable image and restores from backup using this image. It also allows to restore to different hardware and can therefore be used as a migration
utility as well.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, rear did not preserve the Linux capabilities set on the original system during the backup phase. The recovered system was subsequently missing these capabilities. With this update, Linux capabilities are correctly preserved if the "NETFS_RESTORE_CAPABILITIES" directive is set to the "y" option in the /usr/share/rear/conf/default.conf configuration file. (BZ#1434518)
Users of rear are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
