Updated grub2 packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Extended Update Support.

Description

The grub2 packages provide version 2 of the Grand Unified Bootloader (GRUB), a highly configurable and customizable bootloader with modular architecture. The packages support a variety of kernel formats, file systems, computer architectures, and hardware devices.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• When booting with the UEFI Simple Network Protocol, certain Fujitsu Server PRIMEQUEST 2000 systems became unresponsive after displaying the "Fetching Netboot Image" message. This update fixes the underlying code, and booting these systems now works as expected. (BZ#1348520)
• Previously, due to a bug in the GRUB boot loader, IBM Power systems handled "netmask" parameters incorrectly. As a consequence, network boot sometimes failed and GRUB entered the rescue shell. This update improves handling of "netmask" parameters, and network boot now works correctly. (BZ#1413080)

Users of grub2 are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.

Solution

relevant to your system have been applied.
