Updated vdsm packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.

Description

VDSM is a management module that serves as a Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager agent on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor or Red Hat Enterprise Linux hosts.

Changes to the vdsm component:

  • Previously, when a virtual machine took a prolonged amount of time to shut down the state of the virtual machine could be misreported as unresponsive, even though the virtual machine was operating correctly. Now, the slow down during start up and shut down is taken into account to avoid misreporting the virtual machine as unresponsive. (BZ#1398418)
  • Previously, NUMA sampling could cause an unnecessarily high load on complex hosts. Now, the sampling interval has been reduced to 10 minutes to reduce the load on hosts. This is frequent enough as NUMA topology rarely changes. (BZ#1401580)
  • Previously, ioprocess helper was keeping an open file on shared storage while it was running. This meant that the host could not mount the storage domain. Now, a version of ioprocess that fixes this issue is required. This means that ioprocess no longer keeps files open the shared storage and the mount will succeed. (BZ#1370564)
