Updated libvirt packages that fix one bug and add two enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Extended Update Support.

Description

The libvirt library contains a C API for managing and interacting with the virtualization capabilities of Linux and other operating systems. In addition, libvirt provides tools for remote management of virtualized systems.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, hot plugging a SCSI device to a guest with no usable SCSI controller failed. This update ensures that the automatic addition of the SCSI controller is performed in the correct order, and the SCSI hot plug now works properly in the described circumstances. (BZ#1380309)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancements:

• It is now possible to specify the virtio data buffer limit between a guest and the QEMU emulator. To do this, change the value of the <driver rx_queue_size='N'/> parameter in the guest's domain XML file, where N can be from 256 to 1024. (BZ#1375597)
• This update introduces the ability to pass an advanced configuration and power interface (ACPI) table containing system-licensed internal code (SLIC) information to a guest. To do so, add the following element to the <os> section of the guest's domain XML file, where PATHNAME is the full path name of the ACPI table file:

As a result, if the guest's OS previously required reactivation due to missing SLIC information (such as Microsoft Windows does), it will now be properly activated. (BZ#1380382)

Users of libvirt are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug and add these enhancements. After installing the updated packages, libvirtd will be restarted automatically.
