Updated initscripts packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Extended Update Support.

Description

The initscripts packages contain basic system scripts that boot the system, change runlevels, activate and deactivate most network interfaces, and shut down the system cleanly.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the systemd service executed the network script that starts networking before the systemd-udev service finished renaming ethernet interfaces. As a consequence, networking did not work because the required interface was not found, and the following error message occurred:

network: Bringing up interface em1: ERROR : [/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-eth] Device em1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

A patch has been applied to fix this bug, and networking no longer fails to start due to the described problem. (BZ#1369016)

• Previously, when the rhel-import-state script copied files from the initramfs disk to a file system, rhel-import-state tried to preserve all file attributes, including the extended attributes where SELinux labels are stored, and used the "restorecon" command without the "-F" option to fix labels on those files. As a consequence, files copied by rhel-import-state had incorrect Multi-Level Security (MLS) levels assigned, which made it impossible to log in to an MLS-enabled system in enforcing mode both from a TTY console or a serial console. The underlying source code has been modified to fix this bug, and the described problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1380308)

Users of initscripts are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.

Solution
