Updated tar packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Extended Update Support.

Description

The GNU tar program can save multiple files in an archive and restore files from an archive.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, using the tar command with the --selinux option failed, as the tar utility freed memory incorrectly. With this update, the memory is freed correctly, and tar works as expected with the --selinux option. (BZ#1365645)

Users of tar are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
