Red Hat Ceph Storage 2 is now available with updates that fix several bugs and add one enhancement.

Description

Red Hat Ceph Storage is a scalable, open, software-defined storage platform that combines the most stable version of the Ceph storage system with a Ceph management platform, deployment utilities, and support services.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• When upgrading from Red Hat Ceph Storage 1.3.2 to 2.0, the configuration files of the federated Object Gateway were not properly updated to the new multi-site configuration, and their content was lost. With this update, old configuration files are properly converted to new ones used in Red Hat Ceph Storage 2. (BZ#1358704)
• Under certain circumstances, the Ceph logrotate configuration failed to properly reload service daemons after rotating log files. As a consequence, the service daemons wrote log entries to incorrect log files. The logrotate configuration has been fixed, and the service daemons now write to the correct log files after a rotation. (BZ#1360229)
• Previously, the formula for percentage calculation of the used storage was incorrect. Consequently, the Ceph Pool Utilization percentage in the Red Hat Storage Console was inaccurate. The formula has been fixed, and the Red Hat Storage Console now shows the correct Ceph Pool Utilization percentage. (BZ#1360230)
• The 'rados list-inconsistent-snapset' command now properly outputs '"ss_attr_missing": true' if the user.ceph.snapset attribute is missing. (BZ#1364878)
• In the RADOS Block Device (RBD) mirroring configuration, when the primary cluster shut down unexpectedly, the rbd-mirror daemon on the peer cluster was restarted several times in a row. The underlying source code has been modified, and rbd-mirror is no longer restarted in the described situation. (BZ#1365076)
• Previously, the librbd Python module did not correctly enable the write-back cache when the rbd_cache_writethrough_until_flush option was set to true. This bug has been fixed, and librbd now properly enables the write-back cache after a flush request when rbd_cache_writethrough_until_flush is set to true. (BZ#1367891)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

• With this update, when creating a new Ceph Object Gateway user, the default quota is set for the user. Previously, the default quota for a user was not set until the user performed an action in the Ceph Object Gateway. (BZ#1362284)

All users of Red Hat Ceph Storage are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
