Synopsis
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OSP 7 director Bug Fix Advisory
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Lightspeed patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated packages that resolve various issues are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform director 7.0 for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform director provides the
facilities for deploying and monitoring a private or public
infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
OpenStack Platform.
Changes to the rhel-osp-director component:
- Previously, a password was not set for the root user in the Galera database in overcloud deployments, allowing users to log in to the database as root without authentication. With this update, a random password is automatically set for the Galera root user in new deployments.
Existing deployments will need to do the following:
1) Upgrade the packages on the undercloud
2) Restart the openstack-heat-engine service
3) Relaunch the original overcloud deploy command against the existing overcloud.
Any customization performed on the overcloud outside of heat-templates is rolled back with this command. Ensure that all overcloud changes are implemented via custom Heat templates, and that those Heat templates are included when redeploying on top of the overcloud. (BZ#1340210)
