RHBA-2016:1189 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Node.js image bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated Node.js image that fixes a bug is now available for Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 3.2.
Description
OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat is the company's cloud computing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution designed for on-premise or private cloud deployments.
The openshift3/nodejs-010-rhel7 image provides a platform for building and running Node.js 0.10 applications.
This update fixes the following bug:
- After using the nodejs-010-rhel7 builder image, resulting pods did not start due to the error "/opt/app-root/etc/generate_container_user script exit with permission denied". This was due to the /opt/app-root/etc/ directory not being writable. This bug fix updates the openshift3/nodejs-010-rhel7 image to correct this issue. (BZ#1336263)
This update includes the following image:
openshift3/nodejs-010-rhel7:0.10-36
All OpenShift Enterprise 3 users are advised to upgrade to this updated image.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux container images provided by this update can be downloaded from the Red Hat Container Registry at registry.access.redhat.com using the "docker pull" command. Dockerfiles and scripts should be amended either to refer to this new image specifically, or to the latest image generally.
To update the default image stream for this image, see the following documentation after logging into the OpenShift CLI as a cluster administrator:
To determine whether containers in pods will pull the updated image automatically, review the following documentation on image pull policies:
https://docs.openshift.com/enterprise/3.2/dev_guide/managing_images.html#image-pull-policy
To determine whether a build configuration will force pull the builder image being used, review the following documentation on Source-to-Image build strategy options:
https://docs.openshift.com/enterprise/3.2/dev_guide/builds.html#s2i-force-pull
