Topic
Updated RFEs packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.
Description
The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager is a centralized management platform that allows system administrators to view and manage virtual machines. The Manager provides a comprehensive range of features including search capabilities, resource management, live migrations, and virtual infrastructure provisioning.
The Manager is a JBoss Application Server application that provides several interfaces through which the virtual environment can be accessed and interacted with, including an Administration Portal, a User Portal, and a Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API).
Changes to the rhevm component:
- Previously, the audit_log table was not cleaned correctly, so the FK validation on that table took too long. As a result, the upgrade validation stage also took too long. Now, the audit_log cleanup mechanism has been fixed so that upgrade validation time is normal. (BZ#1324733)
- This release allows editing of some self-hosted engine Manager VM fields (memory, CPU, and networking). The previous self-hosted engine version did not have a config file that the user was allowed to change to update the Manager VM settings. Now, direct editing of memory, CPU, and attached NICs directly from the Administration portal is supported. The configuration is flushed to all self-hosted engine nodes according to the OvfUpdateIntervalInMinutes config option (default: each 60 minutes). The config value can be changed to one minute (engine-config -s OvfUpdateIntervalInMinutes=1) if the user wishes to make this change instantaneous.
Note: There is a known issue with hotplug. The Administration portal will report hotplug errors (CPU, memory, and possibly disk) after editing. Those errors have no impact on the configuration transfer and the values will be properly applied once the Manager VM is restarted by self-hosted engine tooling (or manually). (BZ#1139492)
