Topic

An update for autofs is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The autofs utility controls the operation of the automount daemon. The daemon automatically mounts file systems when in use and unmounts them when they are not busy.

For detailed information on changes in this release, see the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 Release Notes and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 Technical Notes linked from the References section.

Users of autofs are advised to upgrade to these updated packages.

Fixes

  • BZ - 1203139 - Similar but unrelated NFS exports block proper mounting of "parent" mount point
  • BZ - 1232074 - autofs is performing excessive direct mount map re-reads
  • BZ - 1233057 - Direct map does not expire if map is initially empty
  • BZ - 1263505 - Heavy program map usage can lead to a hang
