Updated zsh packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6.

Description

The zsh shell is a command interpreter usable as an interactive login shell and
as a shell script command processor. Zsh resembles the ksh shell (the Korn
shell), but includes many enhancements. Zsh supports command-line editing,
built-in spelling correction, programmable command completion, shell functions
(with autoloading), a history mechanism, and more.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, if the zsh process received a signal during the execution of a

memory allocation function and the signal handler attempted to allocate or free
memory, zsh entered a deadlock and became unresponsive. With this update, signal
handlers are no longer enabled while handling the global state of zsh or while
using the heap memory allocator, which ensures that the described deadlock no
longer occurs. (BZ#1316945)

Users of zsh are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this
bug.
