Updated OpenStack Compute packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.0 (Icehouse)
for RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for
building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:

  • OpenStack Compute service

OpenStack Compute (nova) launches and schedules large networks of virtual
machines, creating a redundant and scalable cloud computing platform.
Compute provides the software, control panels, and APIs required to
orchestrate a cloud, including running virtual machine instances and
controlling access through users and projects.

This update addresses the following issues:

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5 runs on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 7.2.

  • BZ - 1181220 - Nova's Block device mappings can become invalid/inconsistent if errors are encountered while calling for Cinder to attach a volume.
  • BZ - 1205647 - nova.virt.libvirt.driver fails to shutdown reboot instance with error 'Code=38 Error=Failed to terminate process 4260 with SIGKILL: Device or resource busy'
  • BZ - 1296050 - Support ssh-keygen of OpenSSH 6.8
  • BZ - 1298291 - Unexpected multipath deletion.
  • BZ - 1302401 - backport the metadata_cache_expiration config option to avoid harcoded value of 15s
  • BZ - 1302444 - The volumes will be deleted when creating a virtual machine fails with the parameter delete_on_termination being set true, which causes that the rescheduling fails Edit
  • BZ - 1305972 - pep8 tests broken in the rhos5
  • BZ - 1308940 - local-ipv4 requests against the ec2 metadata service return both instance and controller IPv4 addresses.
