Topic

An updated ovirt-hosted-engine-ha package is now available.

Description

The ovirt-hosted-engine-ha package enables the self-hosted engine to be highly
available. A self-hosted engine is a virtualized environment in which the Red
Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager runs on a virtual machine on the hosts
managed by the Manager. If the host running the virtual machine goes into
maintenance, the virtual machine is migrated automatically to another host in
the environment.

Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-ha component:

  • Previously, on service stop, ovirt-ha-agent wasn't properly cleaning sanlock

lockspaces. Upgrading the sanlock package with active locks can result in a
reboot in the middle of the upgrade. Now, ovirt-ha-agent correctly cleans on
exit. (BZ#1298461)

  • Previously, on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisors, the symlinks

under /rhev/data-center were not persisted and had to be recreated after each
reboot; if not, the mount of the hosted-engine storage domain failed since the
local mount point was not available. Now, getStorageDomainStats has the side
effect of re-creating all the links, so the mount no longer fails. (BZ#1309211)

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to
use the Red Hat Network to apply this update are available at
https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258

Affected Products

  • Red Hat Virtualization 3.5 x86_64
  • Red Hat Virtualization 3 for RHEL 7 x86_64

Fixes

  • BZ - 1298461 - Host under maintenance still have sanlock lockspaces which prevents the upgrade of the sanlock package
