Topic

Updated OpenStack Sahara packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7.0 (Kilo) for
RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for
building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:

  • OpenStack Sahara

OpenStack Sahara provides the ability to elastically manage Apache Hadoop
clusters on OpenStack.

The openstack-sahara packages have been upgraded to upstream version
2015.1.2, which provides a number of bug fixes over the previous version.
Notably, token information has been removed from the debug log, and the
initialization of ThreadGroup in the Cloudera plug-in has been corrected.
(BZ#1274884)

This update also addresses the following issues:

  • Previous versions of sahara-disk-image-create accepted the tested RHEL

image version 6.6. However, this version has been soft-deprecated in favor
of RHEL 6.7, which has been tested successfully. With this update, any
RHEL 6 guest images are accepted. (BZ#1250925)

  • In some base image contexts, iptables is not initialized prior to

saving. As a consequence, the "service iptables save" command in the
disable-firewall element fails. To fix this problem, the nondestructive
"iptables -L" command has been added, which successfully initializes
iptables, As a result, image generation now succeeds. (BZ#1286719)

  • RHEL 7.2 dependency installation has grown since 7.1. This resulted in

sporadic image generation failures for CDH and HDP images. With this
update, the image size and the TMPFS thresholds have been increased for
supported images. As a result, image generation now succeeds. (BZ#1286770)

Solution
