An updated flannel package that fixes several bugs and adds various enhancements is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extras.

Description

The flannel package contains an etcd-driven address management agent, which
manages IP addresses of overlay networks between systems running containers that need to communicate with one another.

The flannel package has been upgraded to upstream version 0.5.3, which provides a number of bug fixes and enhancements over the previous version. Notably, it fixes the bug where previously the first packet of a request was lost when communicating between different nodes in a cluster. This loss was causing noticeable delays for some requests. (BZ#1258756)

This update also fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the flanneld service could fail to start after a reboot, when RHEL Atomic Host has been configured as a Kubernetes cluster using "kubernetes-contrib/ansible". This bug has been fixed and flanneld now starts successfully after the network is ready. (BZ#1269291, BZ#1275837)

Users of flannel are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes
these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
