Updated Satellite 6.1 packages that fix several bugs and provide support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 are now available.

Description

Red Hat Satellite is a system management solution that allows organizations to configure and maintain their systems without the necessity to provide public Internet access to their servers or other client systems. It performs provisioning and configuration management of predefined standard operating environments.

This errata is required in order for Satellite 6.1 to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2. Users of Satellite 6.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux should see https://access.redhat.com/articles/2053393 before updating.

In addition, this update also fixes the following bugs:

• When deleting a Capsule with hosts still attached, a database exception occurred with the following message:

Operation FAILED: ERROR: update or delete on table "smart_proxies" violates foreign key constraint "hosts_puppet_ca_proxy_id_fk" on table "hosts

The Capsule removal logic has been improved to ensure that all hosts are checked before deletion is allowed. The database exception no longer occurs. (BZ#1207972)

• Prior to this update, the ISO content in the /etc/pulp/isos/ directory was not accessible to the httpd daemon. Consequently, ISOs were not be available for provisioning. This bug has been fixed and ISO content is now accessible as expected. (BZ#1222707, BZ#1251564)
• Previously, Active Directory user group mapping was not correct if the group name used a mix of upper and lower case characters. Mixed case group names are now supported. (BZ#1238442)
• The openscap package was not correctly obsoleting the old openscap-scanner package which could have caused upgrade problems. The package data has been corrected. (BZ#1241638)
• Parameter information was not passed into the hooks for host events. This bug has been fixed and parameter information is now present in host hooks. (BZ#1257339)
• Creating a new Docker registry in Satellite did not support providing optional user name and password. This is now supported (BZ#1259513)
• Cloning a host group did not clone the associated Puppet class mappings. These mappings now are now created correctly on the new host group. (BZ#1267692, BZ#1267693)
• Prior to this update, the subscription reporting data store, Gutterball, was storing all events and therefore consuming too much disk space. The event storage has been minimized to only store the events required. (BZ#1269045)
• Listing a repository in the Satellite WebUI with a large amount of puppet modules took a long time to complete due to the volume of the generated JSON file. The JSON size has been limited and performance is now improved. (BZ#1271143)
• Previously, the execution of the "katello-disconnected setup" command failed with an undefined method error. This bug has been fixed and the error no longer occurs. (BZ#1274606)

Users of Red Hat Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which contain backported patches to correct these issues and add this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Users of Satellite 6.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux should see https://access.redhat.com/articles/2053393 before updating.

Then re-run the installer to complete the upgrade:
