An updated pykickstart package that fixes two bugs and adds one enhancement is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The pykickstart package contains a Python library for manipulating kickstart files.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the pykickstart file writer did not include the equals sign ("=") between certain network options and their values. For example, the kickstart file contained "--vlanid X" instead of "--vlanid=X". Although Anaconda and other programs using pykickstart could still read such files, the files looked incorrect. With this update, the file writer has been modified to add the missing equals sign. (BZ#1171926)
• When kickstart sections, such as %pre, %post, or %packages, contained the %include line, and there was one or more space characters before %include, the installer skipped the %include line assuming that the line is a part of the script. Consequently, the file referenced by %include was not read. This bug has been fixed, and the installer no longer skips the %include lines in the described situation. (BZ#1208903)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

• With this update, the kickstart files have a new way to specify arbitrary options when creating file systems. Previously, kickstart supported the "--fsprofile" option for all commands that create file systems, such as "part", "logvol", and so on. However, only ext3 and ext4 file systems support the concept of profiles. Therefore, there was no method for passing extra options to other file systems, for example xfs. The new "--mkfsoptions" has been added to be used with the "part", "logvol", and similar commands. Multiple options can be given as one string surrounded by quotes. (BZ#1218260)

Users of pykickstart are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs and adds this enhancement.
