Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated packages that resolve various issues are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform director 7.0 for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform director provides the
facilities for deploying and monitoring a private or public
infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
OpenStack Platform.
Changes to the rhel-osp-director component:
- Previously, it was not possible to use environment files to override deployment parameters that were automatically set via commands on the command line. This prevented users from using certain storage back end configurations for OpenStack services. With this update, the command line no longer determines storage back end configuration automatically, allowing users to deploy the default back ends or provide an environment file that specifies the configuration of back ends. A sample configuration can be found in openstack-tripleo-heat-templates.
To deploy with defaults -- Cinder on LVM (iSCSI) and Glance on Swift:
openstack overcloud deploy --templates --control-scale 1 --compute-scale 1
To deploy Cinder and Glance and Nova ephemeral on Ceph:
openstack overcloud deploy --templates --control-scale 1 --compute-scale 1 --ceph-storage-scale 1 -e /usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/environments/storage-environment.yaml
To deploy other configurations, users must copy and customize the storage-environment.yaml file above. (BZ#1247585)
- Previously, a bug in openstack-auth prevented users from selecting the tenant that is active upon login when using the Keystone v2 API. This would result in situations such as the 'service' tenant being displayed on login to the director user interface instead of the 'admin' tenant. With this update, the tenant selector has been enabled in the director's user interface header, allowing users to select the correct tenant after login. (BZ#1248347)
Solution
Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1.

This update is available through 'yum update' on systems registered through Red Hat Subscription Manager. For more information about Red Hat Subscription Manager, see:
