Updated "screen" packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The "screen" utility allows users to have multiple logins on a single terminal.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the "screen" package incorrectly installed and stored its

configuration file for the systemd-tmpfiles utility, which manages volatile and
temporary files, in the /etc/tmpfiles.d/ directory. Consequently, the local
administrator could unintentionally overwrite the configuration of
systemd-tmpfiles by changing the contents of /etc/tmpfiles.d/. The configuration
file is now installed and stored in /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/, which is the
appropriate location for vendor packages. (BZ#1121958)

• Prior to this update, active directory names could be only up to 30 characters

long, otherwise the "LoginName too long" error message was displayed. The number
of characters has been increased to 50, and it is now possible to use longer
active directory names. (BZ#1119794)

Users of "screen" are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
