Topic

Updated OpenStack Compute packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6.0 (Juno) for
RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for
building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:

  • OpenStack Compute service

OpenStack Compute (nova) launches and schedules large networks of virtual
machines, creating a redundant and scalable cloud computing platform.
Compute provides the software, control panels, and APIs required to
orchestrate a cloud, including running virtual machine instances and
controlling access through users and projects.

The Compute service has been rebased to version: 2014.2.3. Additionally,
this update addresses several bugs, which are documented in the Red Hat
Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform Technical Notes (see References
section).

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6 runs on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 7.1.

This update is available through 'yum update' on systems registered through
Red Hat Subscription Manager. For more information about Red Hat
Subscription Manager, see:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Subscription_Management/1/html/RHSM/index.html

Fixes

  • BZ - 1101293 - If anyone create private flavor then, it do not appear in "nova flavor-list" command but, it appears if we pass "--all" flag with the command. Also, we cant use flavor name while creating instance but, it accepts the flavor ID.
  • BZ - 1154737 - [nova][PCI-Passthrough] TypeError: pop() takes at most 1 argument (2 given)
  • BZ - 1163415 - Adjust log permissions to 0750 for openstack-nova
  • BZ - 1170242 - Inconsistent info of availability zone (az) if the default az is replaced
  • BZ - 1183510 - vNic info_cache not populated when creating instances from heat
  • BZ - 1195067 - nova boot vm with '--nic net-id=xxxx, v4-fixed-ip=xxx' failed
  • BZ - 1196364 - Live Migration doesn't handle RBD Storage failures
  • BZ - 1204867 - Live migration of volume backed instances broken after upgrade to Juno
  • BZ - 1205808 - QCOW2 virtual size can bypass disk size checks for a flavor
  • BZ - 1206238 - [nova][pci-passthrough] nova-compute fails to start
  • BZ - 1210455 - Rebase openstack-nova to 2014.2.3
