Topic

An updated ovirt-node package that fixes various bugs and contains a number of
enhancements is now available.

Description

The ovirt-node package provides the utilities and recipes used to create and
configure the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor ISO image.

Note: Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor is only available for the
Intel 64 and AMD64 architectures with virtualization extensions.

Users of the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor are advised to upgrade
to this updated package, which corrects these issues and adds these
enhancements.

Changes to the ovirt-node component:

  • Previously, a race between services during boot caused libvirt to start too

early, which prevented virtual machines from starting up correctly. With this
update, libvirt is started at the right time, so virtual machines start
correctly. (BZ#1213431)

  • Previously, virtual machines failed to start after RHEV-H was upgraded from

6.5 to 6.6. This issue has now been resolved; upgrading RHEV-H to 6.6 no longer
hinders the startup of virtual machines. (BZ#1211054)

Changes to the rhev-hypervisor component:

  • Previously, a race between services during boot prevented network

configuration from upgrading correctly. The risk for the race has now been
reduced significantly to allow the upgrade of the network configuration to
complete correctly. (BZ#1206536)

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red
Hat Network to apply this update are available at
