Updated shadow-utils packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The shadow-utils packages include programs for converting UNIX password files to
the shadow password format, as well as utilities for managing user and group
accounts.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the system administrator could not remove the account expiration

date and the date of the last password change using the "chage -E -1" and "chage

  • d -1" commands. The bug in the "date" parsing code has been fixed, and it is

again possible to remove the account expiration date and the date of the last
password change using the aforementioned commands. (BZ#1206273)

Users of shadow-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix this bug.

Solution

relevant to your system have been applied.
