Updated scl-utils packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 Extended Update Support, 6, and 7.

Description

The scl-utils packages provide a runtime utility and RPM packaging
macros for packaging Software Collections. Software Collections allow
users to concurrently install multiple versions of the same RPM packages
on the system. Using the scl utility, users may enable specific versions
of RPMs, which are installed into the /opt/ directory.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the "nfsmountable" macro was not included in the /etc/rpm/macros.[SCL NAME]-config file when it was enabled for the given collection. With this update, the macro is conditionally added. (BZ#1173138, BZ#1179383, BZ#1179385)
• Prior to this update, the "__scl_path" macro, which generates automatic dependencies, was defined incorrectly. This macro has now been fixed. (BZ#1196174)
• Previously, the "_sysconfdir", "_sharedstatedir", and "_localstatedir" macros contained "scls" in their paths if the "nfsmountable" macro was defined. This was inconsistent with the contents of the /opt/rh/[SCL NAME]/ directories. Now, "scls" has been removed from these macros. (BZ#1199911, BZ#1199913, BZ#1199914)
• The "scl_install" macro placed the "filelists" file, which contains a list of files that comprise the given SCL package, into the wrong location. This resulted in a failure during the rebuild process of the rh-python34 source RPM. With this update, the "filelists" file is stored in the expected location, which fixes the rebuild problem. (BZ#1198041, BZ#1198042)
• Prior to this update, the "filelists" file was not removed between two consecutive builds of an SCL package. Consequently, if a custom "_scl_prefix" macro was used in the spec file for the second build, the "filelists" file contained paths from the default directory as well as the paths defined by the custom macro. With this update, the "filelists" file gets removed. As a result, only the intended directory structure is used in the build root. (BZ#1198045, BZ#1198046)
• Previously, SCL packages always contained the /opt/rh/[SCL NAME]/root/var/spool/uucp/ directory in the build root. Now, this directory is not part of the build root unless the SCL package itself contains it. (BZ#1199919)

Users of scl-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
