Updated ceph-common packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available for the Red Hat Common channel of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and the Red Hat Common channel of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The ceph-common packages provide common utilities to mount and interact with a ceph storage cluster.

The ceph-common packages have been upgraded to upstream version 1.2, which provides a number of bug fixes and enhancements over the previous version. (BZ#1180347)

This update also fixes the following bugs:

• Due to an error in the init script of the ceph-radosgw daemon, ceph-radosgw failed to start on systems where a Ceph storage cluster was deployed and a Ceph object gateway was installed and configured. The init script has been corrected to fix this bug, and in the described scenario, ceph-radosgw now starts properly. (BZ#1184588, BZ#1203518)
• Prior to this update, the /usr/bin/ceph-dencoder file was linked to the libtcmalloc library, and the ceph-common packages were therefore dependent on the gperftools-libs packages. However, gperftools-libs are not included in the Red Hat Common channel, and the installation of ceph-common consequently failed if the user did not have access to gperftools-lib through a different channel. This update removes the redundant dependency from /usr/bin/ceph-dencoder, and ceph-common now installs more reliably. (BZ#1186953)
• Due to a bug in stack processing in the FastCGI (FCGI) protocol, FCGI in some cases terminated unexpectedly with a segmentation fault when an application was receiving more than 1024 connections from the web server. This bug has been fixed and FCGI now handles high amount of connections without crashing. (BZ#1190212)

Users of ceph-common are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add these enhancements.
