Updated samba, samba-vfs-glusterfs packages that fix numerous bugs and add
various enhancements are now available for Red Hat Storage 3.

Description

Red Hat Storage is software-only, scale-out storage that provides flexible and
affordable unstructured data storage for an enterprise. GlusterFS, a key
building block of Red Hat Storage, is based on a stackable user-space design and
can deliver exceptional performance for diverse workloads. GlusterFS aggregates
various storage servers over network interconnections into one large, parallel
network file system.

Samba is an open-source implementation of the Server Message Block (SMB) or
Common Internet File System (CIFS) protocol, which allows PC-compatible machines
to share files, printers, and other information.

• This update brings Samba 4.1 to Red Hat Storage. Samba 4.1 provides a large

number of performance and feature enhancements that greatly benefits Red Hat
Storage, such as the SMB2 server-side copy offload feature. In addition, this
update allows Samba in Red Hat Storage to maintain versions closer to the latest
stable versions available from the upstream Samba project. This ensures greater
access to and support for new technologies being developed, such as open source
implementations of advanced features found in SMB3.(BZ#1193649)

All users of Red Hat Storage are advised to install these updated packages.
