Updated ibus-chewing packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red
Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

IBus-Chewing is an Intelligent Input Bus (IBus) front end of Chewing, an
intelligent Chinese input method for Zhuyin (BoPoMoFo) users.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, when the user switched the to X Input Mode (XIM) of an application

and started typing, XIM produced excess key-release events of the first key,
which caused some unexpected English characters to appear in the application.
With this update, an empty string is sent when IBus-Chewing processes focus-in
events. This clears the XIM state and prevents excess key-release events.

• Before this update, the IBus-Chewing tool did not support the InputMode

property in GNOME Shell. Consequently, IBus-Chewing failed to display input
method state in the system status area. With this update, IBus-Chewing supports
the property of InputMode, so IBus-Chewing displays the input method state in
the system status area in GNOME Shell. (BZ#1073797)

• Previously, when the IBus property was not registered during a state change of

the IBus input method, IBus updated the property by excessive emission of the
update-property D-bus signal. This caused a slow focus change. With this update,
the update-property signal is emitted only when the IBus properties are
registered. (BZ#1119963)

Users of ibus-chewing are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
