Updated xorg-x11-drv-qxl packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The xorg-x11-drv-qxl package provides an X11 video driver for QEMU QXL video accelerator. This driver makes it possible to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 as a guest operating system under the KVM kernel module and the QEMU multi‑platform emulator, using the Simple Protocol for Computing Environments (SPICE).

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, when changing the screen resolution of a guest by resizing the remote‑viewer window, the mouse pointer in the guest disappeared. Consequently, the spice‑vdagent service had to be restarted to make the pointer visible again. With this update, the mouse pointer no longer disappears in this situation. (BZ#1030531)
• Prior to this update, the QXL driver, which does not support screen rotations, was trying to call the CrtcRotate function. As a consequence, the X.Org Server could terminate unexpectedly. To fix this bug, the QXL driver has been prevented from calling the CrtcRotate function. As a result, the X.Org Server no longer crashes. (BZ#1067709)
• Due to a bug, the guest display turned dark after switching to a very high resolution, which led to an error. Now, it is possible to successfully change screen resolution in the guest without any non‑standard behavior. (BZ#1127552)

Users of xorg-x11-drv-qxl are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.

Solution
