Updated redhat-support-tool packages that fix several bugs and add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The redhat-support-tool utility facilitates console-based access to Red Hat subscriber services and gives Red Hat subscribers more venues for accessing the content and services available to them as Red Hat customers. Further, it enables Red Hat customers to integrate and automate their help desk services with Red Hat subscription services.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• A change in the source code that was used to fix a bug in a previous version of redhat-support-tool caused the Red Hat Support Tool to incorrectly handle uploading SoS reports. As a consequence, uploading an SoS report using the Red Hat Support Tool failed with the "unknown URL type" error. The underlying source code has been modified, and uploading an SoS report using the Red Hat Support Tool now works as expected. (BZ#1054662)
• Prior to this udpate, the "redhat-support-tool getcase" command did not

correctly pass all the information about a customer case. Consequently, running "redhat-support-tool getcase" did not display the group name. The source code for querying the case information has been modified, and "redhat-support-tool getcase" now returns the group name in a customer case as expected. (BZ#1117069)

• Previously, redhat-support-tool did not accept a certain specific password even though the password did not break any Red Hat Network rules for login passwords. As a consequence, an attempt to log in using this password failed with the "TypeError: Incorrect padding" error message. A patch has been applied to fix this problem, and the user is now able to log on to the Red Hat Support Tool using the mentioned password as expected. (BZ#1146316)
• Previously, the "redhat-support-tool getcase" command did not correctly handle passing information about the diagnosed files. As a consequence, "redhat-support-tool diagnose" output the URL to the XML version of the diagnosed file instead of the HTML version and also displayed the single-sign on (SSO) user name of the author of the file. The source code used for acquiring the file information has been modified, and "redhat-support-tool diagnose" now displays the HTML version of the diagnosed file and no longer shows the SSO user name of

the author. (BZ#1146317)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

• Previously, a hard-coded limit defined the maximum number of search results displayed in the command-line interface used in redhat-support-tool. As a consequence, the command-line interface displayed at most 50 search results, even though the shell supported getting access to more than 50 results, which could be limiting in certain situations. This update raises the default limit to 500 search results and introduces support for modifying the maximum number of displayed search results in the ~/.redhat-support-tool/redhat-support-tool.conf file. Users of redhat-support-tool are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add this enhancement.
