Updated gdisk packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 7.

Description

The gdisk packages provide a fdisk-like partitioning tool for GUID Partition
Table (GPT) disks. GPT fdisk features a command-line interface, fairly direct
manipulation of partition table structures, recovery tools fort dealing with
corrupt partition tables, and the ability to convert Master Boot Record (MBR)
disks to GPT format.

This update fixes the following bug:

• When accessing a disk to create a partition using the sgdisk utility, in

certain cases, the access could be unaligned. In such a situation, an error was
returned and sgdisk failed to create the partition. A patch has been provided to
properly align accesses to fit the device characteristics, and sgdisk now works
as expected. (BZ#1087353)

Users of gdisk are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this
bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
