Topic

Updated rpcbind packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are
now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The rpcbind utility is a server that converts RPC program numbers into universal
addresses. It must be running on the host to be able to make RPC calls on a
server on that machine.

Several bug fixes and improvements have been added. For example, the output of
the "rpcinfo -h" command has become consistent with the rpcinfo man page.

Users of rpcbind are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

Fixes

• BZ - 963512 - Cmd rpcinfo usage info is not correct. And the two usage info from 'rpcinfo -h' and man page are inconsistent.
• BZ - 1036791 - Please do not pull in rpcbind.service from multi-user.target
• BZ - 1159683 - rpmdiff warning: /sbin/rpcbind should be changed to /usr/sbin/rpcbind in [RHEL-7.x]
