Updated gnome-online-accounts packages that fix two bugs and add two
enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

GNOME Online Accounts is a single sign-on framework for the GNOME desktop, which
provides the user with an easy way to log into their online accounts under the
GNOME desktop environment.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, memory errors occurred due to race conditions in threaded code.

Consequently, goa-daemon terminated unexpectedly with a segmentation fault when
Kerberos was used for authentication. With this update, the race conditions have
been fixed and the Kerberos code has been split into a separate process, so it
no longer affects the main daemon. As a result, goa-daemon no longer crashes in
this scenario and is now more resilient against these types of bugs.

• Previously, leaks in file descriptors for the timerfd() system calls occurred.

As a consequence, the goa-daemon process ran out of file descriptors and
terminated unexpectedly. A patch has been applied to eliminate the leaks, and
goa-daemon no longer crashes in this scenario. (BZ#1029316)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancements:

• This update introduces a GSettings whitelist for filtering providers. As a

result, administrators are now able to selectively disable providers that are
available to users. (BZ#1080539)

• Ticket renewal for smartcard-based Kerberos accounts is now supported.

Users of gnome-online-accounts are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which fix these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
