Updated spice-xpi packages that fix two bugs and add two enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The spice-xpi packages provide the Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) extension for Mozilla that allows the SPICE client to be used from a web browser.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Before this update, due to the missing list of supported architectures in the spec file of the spice-xpi packages, the building process of spice-xpi failed. This update adds aarch64 to the list of architectures, which allows the packages to build with no further modifications. (BZ#1068825)
• When starting a remote-viewer session using the spice-xpi utility, the SELinux policy blocked execution of the suid helper used for USB redirection. As a consequence, an error could occur when trying to redirect a USB device in remote-viewer using spice-xpi. With this update, when the spice-xpi RPM is installed, the SELinux policy is changed to allow USB redirection, thus fixing this bug. (BZ#1075173)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

• The spice-xpi packages now utilize a test HTML page to verify if the browser plug-in for spice-xpi packages work correctly. The test page plays an essential role during debugging purposes. (BZ#959194)

Users of spice-xpi are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add this enhancement. After installing the update, Firefox must be restarted for the changes to take effect.
