Updated ipa packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7.

Red Hat Identity Management is a centralized authentication, identity management
and authorization solution for both traditional and cloud-based enterprise
environments. It integrates components of the Red Hat Directory Server, MIT
Kerberos, Red Hat Certificate System, NTP, and DNS. It provides web browser and
command-line interfaces. Its administration tools allow an administrator to
quickly install, set up, and administer a group of domain controllers to meet
the authentication and identity management requirements of large-scale Linux and
UNIX deployments.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, when no closest AD domain controller was found, adding an AD trust

relationship with Identity Management Server could fail with an error message. A
patch has been applied to address this bug, and a trust relationship can be
established as expected by using a domain controller from any available Active
Directory site. (BZ#1143779)

• Previously, when establishing cross-forest trust, a domain controller without

PDC role could have been selected, leading Active Directory domain controller to
reject updates to the trust topology. As a consequence, no authentication was
possible towards Red Hat Identity Management, and no users and groups from
Active Directory were available. With this update, cross-forest trust is
established only to domain controllers of the forest's root domain with the
primary domain controller emulator role. As a result, a proper error message is
now displayed in the described situation, and domain controllers of the forest
root domain are filtered to only use PDC-capable ones. (BZ#1144030)

• Prior to this update, Red Hat Identity Management was unable to trust certain

domains within a complex Active Directory forest topology. Consequently, users
from certain domains beyond Active Directory forest root domain were unable to
access resources provided by Red Hat Identity Management. This update improves
logic to filter out Active Directory domains which cannot be supported through
cross-forest AD trusts in order to allow a wider set of forest-domain
relationships. As a result, users from Active Directory domains can access
resources provided by Red Hat Identity Management through a cross-forest trust
link. (BZ#1144031)

Users of Red Hat Identity Management are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which fix these bugs.
