RHBA-2014:1565 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
xfsdump bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated xfsdump packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.
Description
The xfsdump packages provide several utilities for managing XFS file systems,
including xfsrestore and xfsdump.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Previously, the xfsrestore command executed on a dumped XFS filesystem did not
properly restore file capabilities. This bug has been fixed and file
capabilities are now correctly restored by xfsrestore. (#905585)
- Previously, the xfsdump package did not create the /var/lib/xfsdump/inventory/
directory during installation. Consequently, the directory was created during
run time, and therefore it was not owned by the package. With this update,
/var/lib/xfsdump/inventory/ is created when the package is installed. Now,
xfsdump owns /var/lib/xfsdump/inventory/ as expected. (#1055655)
Users of xfsdump are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs.
