Updated systemd packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

systemd is a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with the SysV and
LSB init scripts. It provides aggressive parallelization capabilities, uses
socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, offers on-demand starting of
daemons, and keeps track of processes using Linux cgroups. In addition, it
supports snapshotting and restoring of the system state, maintains mount and
automount points, and implements an elaborate transactional dependency-based
service control logic. It can also work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Prior to this update, the serial-getty@.service unit file did not contain the

Install section. As a consequence, using the "systemctl enable" command to
enable user logins on additional terminals using the getty utility failed. This
update adds the Install section to the serial-getty@.service unit file and user
logins can now be created through getty by "systemctl enable" as expected.

• Previously, the network.service and network-online.target systemd units did

not have any configuration to determine the order in which they execute.
Consequently, services that were set up with the "After=network-online.target"
parameter were not properly executed after network.service. As a consequence,
services that require network to be online upon their startup (such as the
Corosync Cluster Engine) failed to start. To fix this issue,
network-online.target has been modified to always run after network.target, and
the described problems no longer occur. (BZ#1121650)

Users of systemd are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
