Updated grub packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6.

Description

The grub packages provide GRUB (Grand Unified Boot Loader), a boot loader
capable of booting a wide variety of operating systems.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, the convert function in the grub-install utility failed to

correctly identify partition numbers for multipath devices when the
"user_friendly_names" variable was set to "no". As a consequence, GRUB could not
boot these multipath devices. The logic in the convert function has been
patched, and multipath devices now boot successfully. (BZ#1122520)

Users of grub are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this
bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
