Topic

Updated ovirt-host-deploy packages that fix several bugs and add various
enhancements are now available.

Description

The ovirt-host-deploy packages provide deployment implementation required for
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager to deploy new hosts. The packages
contain a Python library and Java library used by the Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Manager package. These libraries are the core deployment logic.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • If the external Neutron provider was selected during a new host install, when

ovirt-host-deploy attempted to install the layer 2 agent it used "quantum"
instead of "neutron". OpenStack Havana changed the path of the configuration
files and such to use neutron. To fix this quantum has been
renamed to neutron in all references to packages and configuration files in
order to support the new naming scheme. (BZ#1032890)

  • Adding a host with a Neutron external network provider failed with the error:

"from host_deploy log". This was caused by the engine sending integers instead
of strings for configuration. These integers are now converted to strings, so
adding a host with Neutron succeeds. (BZ#989915)

  • cgconfig was not started causing libvirt to fail, rendering libvirt unusable.

Now if cgconfig exists it is automatically started, so libvirt can be used.
(BZ#982306)

  • Accepting a 6.4 hypervisor installed in a virtual machine on Red Hat

Enterprise Virtualization Manager failed with [Errno 5] "Input/output error".
This has been fixed so the hardware does not fail if the model-specific register
(MSR) cannot be read. (BZ#956848)

This update also adds the following enhancements:

  • If Red Hat Storage support is requested, glusterd is automatically started

after installation. (BZ#953896)

  • libvirtd is now restarted after each host-deploy process, in order to pick up

VDSM and pki configuration changes. (BZ#1043524)

Users of ovirt-host-deploy are advised to upgrade to these updated packages
which address these issues.
