Topic

Updated lvm2-cluster packages that fix one bug is now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.

Description

The lvm2-cluster packages contain support for Logical Volume Management (LVM) in
a clustered environment.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • When one of the LVM client processes was killed, the clvmd daemon had to wait

for a mutex to stop the LVM client thread. Consequently, lvm utility commands in
a cluster became indefinitely blocked. This update introduces a patch which
fixes the deadlock, and lvm utility commands now work correctly. (BZ#1039772)

Users of lvm2-cluster are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red
Hat Network to apply this update are available at
