Topic

Updated anaconda packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are
now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The anaconda packages contain portions of the Anaconda installation program that
can be run by the user for reconfiguration and advanced installation options.

The updated anaconda packages include numerous bug fixes and enhancements. Space
precludes documenting all of these changes in this advisory. Users are directed
to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 Technical Notes for information on the most
significant of these changes:

Users of anaconda are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

  • BZ - 851284 - Three spelling errors in About LVM information pop-up.
  • BZ - 857517 - Anaconda in RHEL 6 does not honor the --fsoptions= with swap partitions
  • BZ - 859569 - anaconda loads stage2 install.img twice when booting into rescue mode from CD/DVD
  • BZ - 875644 - Kickstart upgrade doesn't reboot to upgraded system
  • BZ - 880577 - Anaconda can't create partitions larger than 16T
  • BZ - 880625 - DeviceError: ('new lv is too large to fit in free space', 'SNAKEVG')
  • BZ - 886020 - Anaconda doesn't warn when existing raw partition is used for / without creating new file system
  • BZ - 888292 - Edit LV/RAID dialogs lose focus after "Format?" dialog is shown
  • BZ - 895982 - LVMError: lvcreate failed for vg_system1/LogVol00: 07:19:23,331 ERROR : Volume group "vg_system1" has insufficient free space (3774 extents): 3775 required.
  • BZ - 901515 - AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'default'
  • BZ - 919409 - wrong selinux context of /etc/multipath/bindings after the installation
  • BZ - 996595 - Device /dev/sda2 not found (or ignored by filtering).
  • BZ - 998486 - fcoe-utils is not available on s390x please don't use it
  • BZ - 1014719 - creation of ppc64 boot images fails
