Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat release 1.2.4 is now available with several bug
fixes.
Description
OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat is the company's cloud computing
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution designed for on-premise or private cloud
deployments.
Installing the updated packages and restarting the OpenShift Enterprise services
are the only requirements for this update.
Customers are advised to upgrade to Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 1.2.4.
Changes to the Node component:
- OpenShift Enterprise users can now customize Java options in JBoss EAP and EWS
cartridges with the new JAVA_OPTS_EXT environment variable without modifying or
removing the required JAVA_OPTS settings. This feature allows greater
compatibility between OpenShift Enterprise and OpenShift Online. (BZ#1006972)
- Due to a bug in the JBoss EAP and EWS cartridges, the JAVA_HOME environment
variable got overridden by marker files. This fix allows the JAVA_HOME
environment variable to be read from the environment, resulting in a more
consistent user experience. (BZ#1009152)
- Previously pyodbc was unusable due to some missing dependencies on node hosts.
The required dependencies have been added to the rubygem-openshift-origin-node
package, and pyodbc can now be used correctly. This also increases compatibility
between OpenShift Enterprise and OpenShift Online. (BZ#1012348)
- Due to a bug in the PostgreSQL cartridge, non-scaled PostgreSQL databases
would not reload after the cartridge was stopped and restarted. This has been
fixed and the PostgreSQL databases now reload correctly after a cartridge
restart. (BZ#1010846)
- Previously in OpenShift Enterprise, there was no way of using an internal
Python mirror with Python 2.6 cartridges where Internet access was not
available. The Python cartridge can now have an internal mirror enabled by using
the $OPENSHIFT_PYPI_MIRROR_URL setting. Changing this setting in the
/etc/openshift/env/OPENSHIFT_PYPI_MIRROR_URL file on a node host is recommended
as this will make it available for all gears. However, it can be set in a gear's
action hook if desired. (BZ#1012721)
