Updated rp-pppoe packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The rp-pppoe packages provide the Roaring Penguin PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol
over Ethernet) client, a user-mode program that does not require any kernel
modifications. This client is fully compliant with RFC 2516, the official PPPoE
specification.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, the pppoe-server service started by default at each system boot,

which was not intended as pppoe-server is supposed to run only when enabled by
an administrator. This update ensures that pppoe-server is not started by
default, thus fixing this bug. (BZ#841190)

Users of rp-pppoe are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
