Topic

Updated vdsm packages that fix several bugs are now available.

Description

The Virtual Desktop Server Manager (VDSM) is a management module that serves as
the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager's agent on Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Hypervisor or Red Hat Enterprise Linux
virtualization hosts.

This update fixes several bugs:

  • Previously, the qemu-kvm-rhev-tools package was required when adding hosts to

the Manager. On Gluster-enabled hosts, the qemu-kvm-tools package was provided
instead, so Gluster nodes could not be added to the Manager. Now, both packages
are available in the yum repositories, and qemu-kvm-rhev-tools is installed on
Gluster nodes, which can then be added to the Manager. (BZ#913608)

  • Writing bond names to the bonding_masters file did not add new bonding

devices, so only two bonds were enabled when new hosts were added to the
Manager. Now, the bonding_masters file is opened with each added bond, and data
for each bond is persistently written onto the file, so more than two bonds can
be used. (BZ#917349)

All users managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux Virtualization hosts using Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization Manager are advised to install these updated packages
which fix these bugs.

These updated packages will be provided to users of Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Hypervisor in the next rhev-hypervisor6 errata package.
