Topic

Updated spice-xpi packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.

Description

The spice-xpi package provides the Simple Protocol for Independent Computing
Environments (SPICE) extension for Mozilla that allows the SPICE client to be
used from a web browser.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Prior to this update, the spice-xpi utility incorrectly assumed sole ownership

of the /usr/lib{,64}/mozilla/plugins ({_libdir}/mozilla/plugins/) directory and
all files in it. As a consequence, also files that belonged to other packages
were removed when spice-xpi was uninstalled. This update modifies the
specifications to remove only files that belong to the spice-xpi package.
(BZ#795513)

  • Prior to this update, the spice-xpi packages did not compile correctly with

the xulrunner runtime environment. This update modifies the underlying code to
allow spice-xpi to compile successfully. (BZ#817470)

All users of spice-xpi are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red
Hat Network to apply this update are available at
