Updated syslinux packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux.

Description

The syslinux packages provide a utility, which is responsible for booting the
operating system kernel.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Prior to this update, the syslinux utility used an inappropriate timeout

value. As a consequence, the timeout took longer than expected. This update
modifies the underlying code to remove this limitation. Now, syslinux timeouts
work as expected. (BZ#471067)

• Prior to this update, the syslinux-perl package contained unresolved Perl

dependencies. As a consequence, syslinux-perl failed to build. This update
modifies the underlying code to resolve these dependencies. Now, syslinux-perl
builds as expected. (BZ#844250)

All users of syslinux are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
