Updated Subscription Asset Manager packages that fix multiple bugs and add
various enhancements are now available.

Description

Red Hat Subscription Asset Manager acts as a proxy for handling subscription
information and software updates on client machines.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Attempting to query the repository synchronization status by executing the

"headpin provider status" command resulted in an undefined method error. This
update removes "provider status" from the headpin command-line interface.

• Previously, the "katello-configure" command ignored the "--org-name"

parameter, and therefore did not name the default organization correctly. This
update fixes the use of "--org-name", and the default organization is named
properly when running "katello-configure" with this parameter. (BZ#795869)

• When registering with Red Hat Subscription Manager, an error occurs if users

do not disable the autosubscribe function. With this update, users can register
with Red Hat Subscription Manager even if the autosubscribe function is enabled.

• When upgrading Subscription Asset Manager, certain existing configuration

files were overwritten by the new configuration files. Users had to re-configure
Subscription Asset Manager to regain required functionality. With this update,
the existing configuration files are preserved, and new configuration files are
installed with the "rpmnew" suffix. (BZ#821528)

• Candlepin overwrote the keystore and did not contain a database column for the

Subscription Asset Manager 1.1 upgrade. This caused a "Connection Refused" error
when logging into Subscription Asset Manager. This update adds the missing
database column, retains the keystore if it exists, and removes redundant files
from the update. (BZ#821532)

• Due to a missing JSON object upon return from the delete() call, users were

unable to unsubscribe all consumed subscriptions using the command-line
interface (CLI). This update returns the JSON object from the delete() call and
users are now able to unsubscribe all consumed subscriptions using the CLI.

• Manifest imports did not remove unused products or subscriptions. Consequently

the headpin CLI listed unavailable products. This update cleans the product
listing after a new manifest import, so the headpin CLI now correctly displays
the product list. (BZ#822665)

• The katello-configure utility did not exit after detecting an existing SAM

environment, which resulted in environment reconfiguration. This update exits
from katello-configure upon detection of an existing SAM environment, an d so
avoids the reconfiguration. (BZ#822671)

This update also adds the following enhancements:

• Previously, Subscription Asset Manager did not support Lightweight Directory

Access Protocol (LDAP) and users were therefore unable to authenticate using the
protocol. LDAP authentication is now supported; user authorization based on LDAP
is possible after assigning LDAP groups to roles in Katello. (BZ#803408)

• Removal of hypervisors created a deletion record. This record stopped

hypervisors from re-registering with the same UUID. With this update, the
deletion record can be removed by running the following command: "headpin system
remove_deletion --uuid=[uuid]". (BZ#812891)

All users of Subscription Asset Manager are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which fix these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
