Topic

Updated virt-v2v packages that fix multiple bugs and add various enhancements
are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The virt-v2v packages provide a tool for converting virtual machines to use the
KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) hypervisor or Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization. The tool modifies both the virtual machine image and its
associated libvirt metadata. Also, virt-v2v can configure a guest to use VirtIO
drivers if possible.

These updated virt-v2v packages include numerous bug fixes and enhancements.
Space precludes documenting all of these changes in this advisory. Users are
directed to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 Technical Notes for information on
the most significant of these changes:

https://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/6.3_Technical_Notes/virt-v2v.html#RHBA-2012-0788

All users of virt-v2v are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs and add these enhancements.
