An updated rhev-agent package that fixes a bug is now available.

Description

The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization agent runs inside the guest. It
provides information and performs actions which cannot easily be achieved
from outside the guest's operating system.

It interfaces with the host through a vioserial interface, supplies
heart-beat notifications as well as run-time information from within the
guest itself, executes control commands to be run within the guest
operating system (e.g. shutdown and restart), and enables the Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization Manager system to automatically perform a login
command on the user's behalf to the guest operating system (OS).

These updated packages fix the following bug:

• The rhev-agent package's post installation scripts previously made

modifications to installed files. When an attempt was made to verify the
package's installation, using 'rpm -V', it was found that the md5sum and
mtime of some files differed from that expected by rpm. The post
installation scripts no longer perform the relevant modifications, ensuring
that it is possible to verify the package's installation (BZ#817337).

All Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization users who use Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Manager 3.0 to run Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 guests are
advised to install this new package.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
