Topic

An updated dropwatch package that fixes one bug is now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The dropwatch package contains a utility that provides packet monitoring
services.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the dropwatch utility could terminate unexpectedly with a

segmentation fault. The failure was caused by a double-free error which occurred
while issuing the start and stop messages. This update removes the freeing
function calls from the underlying code, which prevents the dropwatch utility
from crashing. (BZ#684713)

All users of dropwatch are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
fixes this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red Hat
Network to apply this update are available at
https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-11259
